G R E E T I N G S

" Hello everyone! welcome to my e-primbon, nice to meet you in my site :)"

The way I say "Hello" and "nice to meet you" is a kind of Greetings.  Greetings are very important thing in our life. It's impossible to greet the unknown-people with say their name firstly, or doing something with your movement to them. It's a very unpolite act.
Don't do it okay?!!

Let's be a polite person from learning this :D

Greeting is an act of communication in which human beings (as well as other members of the animal kingdom) intentionally make their presence known to each other, to show attention to, and to suggest a type of relationship or social status between individuals or groups of people coming in contact with each other. While greeting customs are highly culture- and situation-specific and may change within a culture depending on social status and relationship, they exist in all known human cultures. Greetings can be expressed both audibly and physically, and often involve a combination of the two. This topic excludes military and ceremonial salutes but includes rituals other than gestures.

  • Expressions to greet people are :
-          Hi !
-          Hello !
-          Ho are you ?
-          Good morning
-          Good afternoon
-          How do you do ? (for the first time you meet someone)
-          How are things with you ?
-          How is life ?
  • To response from greeting someone you can use :
-          Hi !
-          Hello !
-          Not bad, thanks. and you ?
-           Nice you meet you too
-          Pretty good, thanks
-          Morning too
-          How do you do ?

Ways to greet
A. Written english
By convention, formal letters in English commence with the salutation "Dear" followed by the name or title of the recipient. If the name or title of the recipient is unknown, then it is conventional to write "Dear Sir," or "Dear Madam," or where the sex of the recipient is also unknown, "Dear Sir/Madam," or "Dear Sir or Madam" is used. In other forms of written communication (such as fax or email), or in informal messages the salutation is often absent or replaced with a personal variant. For example, "Hello". "Goodbye". "Salutations". "You know?"

B.Gesture
example:
  • hand shake
  • bowing
  • waving
  • hug
  • cheek kissing

C.Voice mail greetings

Voicemail greetings are pre-recorded messages that are automatically played to callers, when the voicemail system answers the call. Some voicemail systems allow for different greetings to be played to different callers.

D.Telephone greetings
Most languages have alternate greetings to be used over the telephone. In this case, the greeting is meant to confirm whether the person on the other line is present.
The term "greeting" may also refer to a pre-recorded message replayed when the call cannot be answered.

GIVING INSTRUCTIONS

GIVING INSTRUCTIONS

She is a stewardess, right??
You may meet 'em everytime you are in flight. Do you know their job...?
Yeah you're right!
Their job is to "give instructions" to all the passengers, the instructions is about the safety passengers ;)

More example ..

(Someone is knocking the door)
Mom : There’s someone outside, open the door please..
Me : Yes Mom..
My mom asked me to open the door. It’s mean my mom gave me an instructions.
v
Giving Instructions is competence for to do command or request from one people to another people
v
      How to give instructions:

1.      Use the imperative form
We use the imperative form to give orders, warnings, and advice
Example
-     Be quiet! (order)
-     Take care! (order)
-     Listen to me carefully! (order)
-     don’t come here! (warning/prohibition)
-     don’t make a noise (warning/prohibition)
-     don’t walk along here! (warning/prohibition)
Because it can sound rude (especially if you are talking to an adult), we ‘soften’ the imperative form with “Let’s” or “Please”
-          Let’s go now
-          Please listen what I’m saying

2.       Use a modal verb to turn the order into a request (Could, can, will, would)
-          Could you make some tea?
-          Can you come here please?
-          Will you shut the door please?
-          Would you wait me for just a minutes?

3.      Use an introductory phrase to soften the order
-          Would you mind possibly … (+ing) (most indirect)
-          I was hoping you could … (+infinitive without to)
-          Do you think you could … (+infinitive without to)
-          I’d like you to …
-          I want you to …

4.      Use a sequencing words
(first, second, after that, next, the last step is, then, finish)

After learning about giving instructions, let's be a polite person in giving instructions to the other people, okay?
Don't be a rude person in sayin sumthin ;)

Look at this lyrics, this song lyrics are using "Present Tense"

It's like he doesn't hear a word I say,
His mind is somewhere far away,
And I don't know how to get there,
It's like all he wants is to chill out,
He makes me wanna pull all my hair out,
Like he doesn't even care,

You,
me
We're face to face
But we don't see eye to eye
Like fire and rain
You can drive me insane

But I can't stay mad at you for anything
We're Venus and Mars
We're like different stars
But you're the harmony to every song I sing
And I wouldn't change a thing

She's always trying to save the day
Just wanna let my music play
She's all or nothing
But my feelings never change
I try to read her mind
She tries to pick a fight
To get attention
That's what all of my friends say

When I'm yes, she's no
When I hold on, he just lets go

We're perfectly imperfect
But I wouldn't change a thing, no

Wouldn't change a thing
