PAST TENSE


Past tense is  tenses that uses to describe an event  at the certain time in the past. 
 Simple Past Tense ( Bentuk Lampau Sederhana )

Past tense is  tenses that uses to describe an event at the certain time in the past un the simple form

  1. Verbal Sentences
(+) subject + past tense (V2) + object
(-) subject + did + not + V1 + object
(?) did + subject + V1 + object?

Example :
(+) I went to the dentist last night
(-) I didn’t go the dentist last night
(?) Did I go the dentist last night?

(+) I bought a new bag yesterday
(-) I didn’t but a new bag yesterday
(?) Did I buy a new bag yesterday?

 Nominal Sentences

For subject We, you, they:
(+) subject + were + non verb
(-) subject + were + not + non verb
(?) were + subject + non verb ?
 For subject I, she, he, it :
(+) subject + was + non verb
(-) subject + was + not + non verb
(?) was + subject + non verb ?

Examples
(+) she was very happy yesterday
(-) She was not very happy yesterday
(?) Was she very happy testerday?

(+) They were here last night
(-) They were not here last night
(?) were they here last night?

Time Signal that usually use in Simple Past Tense :

  • Yesterday
  • Last night, week, month
  • A moment ago
  • An hour ago
  • Just now
  • Several days ago
  • This morning, etc.
